Technology Transfer
Ukraine’s water and wastewater infrastructure has suffered severe war damage, threatening public health and sustainable development.
To address this, German Water Partnership (GWP) and Mykolaiv Water Hub (MWH), with support from Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU), have launched a joint project to strengthen resilience in the water sector. The initiative connects German and Ukrainian experts, builds networks for knowledge transfer, and develops a roadmap for long-term, climate-friendly recovery of municipal infrastructure.
MWH plays a central role on the ground – coordinating with utilities, collecting data, and engaging Mykolaiv and other key cities in shaping Europe-aligned solutions for Ukraine’s future.

Program components
Program
For Ukrainian and German participants, the program offers:
• A series of seven online workshops (2025–2026) on topics such as digitalization, AI for utilities, and energy efficiency technologies.
• An exchange platform with German experts to discuss challenges, share best practices, and explore innovative scalable solutions.
• In-person in Germany, including field visits to utilities and leading German institutions.
The goal is to build long-term partnerships, support Ukraine’s sustainable reconstruction, and align the sector with EU standards and climate-friendly technologies.
